How it works
From the first call to the signed binder
Most plans take three to five weeks, and you can do every step from home.
- 01
Step 1: A free first call
Thirty minutes by video or phone. You tell us about your family and what worries you; we tell you what plan fits.
- 02
Step 2: A written quote
By email after the call: the plan, the flat fee, and any costs paid to others.
- 03
Step 3: A questionnaire, at your pace
What you own, who you'd name, and the people you'd leave out. Fill it in online over a week or two.
- 04
Step 4: Drafts, read together
We send plain-English summaries first, then go through them with you on a second call and change what needs changing.
- 05
Step 5: The signing
At our office on High Street, or at home with a notary and two witnesses we send to you.
- 06
Step 6: Afterwards
A printed binder, a digital copy, and a note in your file to check in when the law or your life changes.
Questions about the process
What do I need for the first call?
Nothing on paper. A rough idea of what you own and who you'd want to look after things is plenty.
Can my adult children join the calls?
Yes, for some of it. We'll also ask for a few minutes with you alone, so the choices are clearly yours.
What if I live far from Columbus?
Then we meet by video and send the signing to you. Most of our clients never come to the office.
Book the first call
Thirty minutes, free, and a written flat fee by email afterward.
The first call is free and doesn't make us your lawyers; a signed engagement letter does.
